What you would work on
- Service and panel upgrades in older Austin homes
- Rough in and trim out for kitchens, bathrooms, additions and ADUs
- Rewiring homes with older or ungrounded wiring
- Circuits for workshops, detached garages, pool equipment and outdoor kitchens
- Lighting design and installation inside and out
The trade in the Austin area
Many 1950s to 1970s homes in central Austin still have small panels and older branch wiring that cannot carry a modern kitchen, so service upgrades are common. Power comes from different utilities across the metro, including Austin Energy in the city, Pedernales Electric Cooperative in much of the Hill Country and Oncor in parts of the suburbs, and each has its own process for service changes.
What we look for
- A current Texas electrical license from the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (apprentice, journeyman, master or residential wireman)
- Residential remodel and new construction experience
- Clean, code compliant work that passes inspection
How our jobs run
Every project has a project manager who schedules the trades, handles permits and inspections and keeps the homeowner informed, so you can focus on the work. Many of our jobs are in occupied homes, so a clean, protected work area at the end of each day matters as much as the work itself.
Licensing
Electrical work in Texas requires a license from the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. Registered apprentices working toward their journeyman license are welcome to apply.
